Lynx in the wild are a rare site as they are timid and typically run when spotted. As I was driving near the famous gold rush Chilkoot Pass this Lynx was patiently waiting for his portrait to be taken. An early morning photograph shoot in Yellowstone National Park finds this beautiful butterfly thawing out from the nights chilly weather. Yellowstone offers a wide variety of subjects for macro photographers. Its well worth a hike into the backcountry to get away from the crowds and enjoy the beautiful Montana nature. A humpback whale breeches off the coast of Newfoundland. The humpback whale can be spotted by its distinctive body shape, long pectoral fins and knobby head. Humpbacks live in pods, and are baleen whales that feed on tiny crustaceans by filtering them coarse gray bristles hanging from their jaws.

A Proud Mother and Kid - Jasper National Park in Canada is home to so many species of wildlife. Driving along the road, we were fortunate to spot this pair of Mountain Goats near one of their favorite mineral licks. The mother was very protective of the very inquisitive kid.
